Our objective is to create a secure and supportive setting for everyone to learn and practice self-defense. In the autumn of 2015, Fabio Lima and Zander Heinen inaugurated Detroit’s inaugural Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school, taking a bold step by departing from the prestigious Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy in New York City, where they had been dedicated practitioners.
Recognizing the necessity for a Jiu-Jitsu academy in Downtown Detroit, Fabio and Zander established the academy with the explicit approval of Marcelo Garcia himself. 313 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy proudly holds the distinction of being the exclusive Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy Association in Michigan.
